Giovanni Molo was born in Lugano on 18th November 1971. He studied economic and social sciences at the University of Geneva, where he graduated in 1994, and law at the University of St. Gallen (HSG), graduating in 1998. He attended the London School of Economics (LSE) as well where he earned a Master of Science degree in 1995. Alongside his work as a lawyer, he perfected his legal training by earning an LL.M. in International economic law and European law at the Lausanne University in 2005 and in 2016 he achieved a Ph.D. in law at the University of Geneva.
Upon completing his law clerking, which he had begun in 1998, first in one of Zurich’s major law firms, then in the Board of appeal of the Government Council (the first instance for administrative litigation) and at District Court of Bellinzona, he has been working since 2001 as a lawyer for Bolla Bonzanigo & Associati. Mr. Molo is a partner in the law Firm since 2009.
His activity involves representing clients in court or in arbitration proceedings, as well as legal and business counselling. More particularly Mr. Molo has been counselling individuals, corporations and public agencies in civil litigations, business and banking law matters, criminal proceedings and proceedings involving international judicial assistance, labour law, administrative issues in construction law proceedings, planning matters and public contracts. As a counsel, he assisted in particular financial intermediaries with regard to compliance and contract matters. He has also been involved in corporate equity trading and was liquidator of a bank.
He is the author of several legal publications. He is a professor at University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland (SUPSI) for two Master of Advanced Studies: Economic Law and Business Crime and Tax Law respectively. Mr. Molo taught in several professional training and updating programs for financial intermediaries and lawyers.
